AARP Tax Aide
Every year, between February and April, volunteers from AARP prepare tax returns for free at Suffern Library on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This service requires advance registration. Information becomes available each year in January.

when can i schedule my Aarp tax aide appointment?
Registration usually begins in mid to late March. Registrations are usually taken on Mondays.
what days of the week and times are the aarp tax aide volunteers at the library?
Suffern Library’s free tax aide service takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from February through April 15, from 10am to 2pm.Â
Participants register for a time slot. You can register for the morning time slot which runs from 10am to 12pm, or the afternoon time slot which runs from 12-2pm.Â
What documents do I need to bring?
It is important that you have your paperwork ready when you come to your appointment. You must complete the AARP intake forms and the New York Intake Sheet.  You must also bring the proper documents. Visit rocknytaxaide.com to print these forms and see the full list of documents.
I had my taxes prepared at the Library last year and have a question about them. how do i contact my tax preparer?
Contact the Library’s Adult Information Desk and one of our librarians will be happy to get your information and question to pass along to our tax aide volunteers. They will call you back.
We cannot provide our volunteers personal information.Â
I do not have a printer. Can I print my taxes and intake forms at the Library?
Yes, the Library has printers available to the public. Black and white copies are $.10 per copy. Our Librarians can help you print your intake forms for your AARP Tax Aide appointment.
