The Suffern Library Board of Trustees generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.  The meetings are open to the public (view our Open Meetings Policy here). If you have questions, please contact Library Director, Darlene Alessi, in advance by calling (845) 357-1237.

Annual Trustee Elections

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the trustees elected at the Annual Meeting of the Association, for three-year terms, were Donalee Berard, Erb Cooper, and Pamela Hess.

Library Budget

Budget News for 2025-26:

Suffern Free Library and Sloatsburg Library will not be seeking a tax increase for the 2025/26 budget year. Both Library Board of Trustees felt it was in the best interest of the residents and decided to forgo a budget vote. Both libraries serve the residents of the Suffern Central School District.

In order to be considered, proposals must be signed and returned via email to dalessi@rcls.org.  Hard copies may be mailed to the Suffern Free Library at 210 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901 by (11/26/24).  Proposal responses will be considered valid for a period of 120 calendar days after the proposal due date.
