At Home Resources, Activities, and Books for Kids

The Library’s Children’s Department has many resources for you and your children when you are at home.

Story Times

Join us for our seasonal weekly story times.   Kids enjoy books, singing songs, crafts and more.  Newborns through 4 year olds are invited to register in January, June and September.  Please note classes fill up fast and space is limited.*

Elementary Explorers

Each month kids will explore new topics using books, crafts, science, technology and more. Programs are held on 1st & 2nd Thursday(Kindergarten-3rd grade).  Please check the calendar for more information.

Arts & Crafts

 Arts & Crafts for all ages are held each month on the second and fourth Wednesdays.

You can choose to do it virtually on your own time or in the Library at 4:30.

Book Discussion

Book Discussions

Kids in grades 2-3 & 4-6 will enjoy meeting with peers to discuss the book of the month. Each group meets every other month at 4:30 on Thursday.  Registration dates are noted in the calendar of events. *

Homework Help

Need help with school? The Library has 14 databases including encyclopedias, magazines, atlases, biographies, newspapers, language help, science help…and so much more. Use your Suffern Library card to get started.

Events

Children’s events are generally open to residents of the Suffern Central School District. All registration is done online. Registration for most events begins one week in advance, unless otherwise noted. “Walk-In” events or “Drop-In” events do not require registration. Please call us if you need help with the registration at 845-357-1237.
