About the Children’s Room
When your kids enter the Children’s Room they’ll be greeted with warm smiles and a friendly environment. Children can enjoy watching our aquarium fish, or creating stories in the puppet theatre. Our toddler area is a comfortable space for children to play games, explore, crawl around, read and be read to. For older kids doing homework, there are quiet study areas and computers with filtered Internet access. While your kids are having fun, check out our great selection of parenting books.
Join us for our seasonal weekly story times where your kids will enjoy being read to, singing songs and creating a story specific craft. Newborns through 4 year olds are invited to register in January, June and September.*
Each month kids will explore new topics using books, crafts, science, technology and more. Programs are held on Wednesday(Kindergarten) or Thursday(1st-2nd grade). Program does not run in July and August.*
Each month kids between 3-5 years old will explore new topics using books, crafts, science, technology and more. Programs are held on Mondays or Thursdays at 2:00 pm. Program does not run in August.*

Kids in grades 4-6 will enjoy meeting with peers to discuss the book of the month. The group meets once a month in the evening. Kids get to keep the books after the discussion. Registration dates are noted in the calendar of events. *

Super Sticky Stuff
Monday, June 5
Students will be given the opportunity to perform inquiry-based experiments to test the properties of adhesive objects. Since chemistry is the study of the interaction of particles that are too small to see, students will be presented with objects such as Velcro that model what is happening at the microscopic level. They will develop an understanding of the science of sticky elements and practice hands-on activities to explore the nature of natural and synthetic adhesive materials. The children assemble a Professor Beakerdude kit, a set of reusable adhesives and a beaker that they can take home and use to perform experiments.
